Web Design Work / Jobs
Who says there is no work!? As a web designer… work is EVERYWHERE!
I have always searched hard for my web jobs… mostly on Craigslist. As I’m not extremely well-versed in every programming language… I have to focus more on medium-smaller businesses. The money is not as good… but it is work.
However, a few hundred dollars a week for adding a site to my portfolio… is well worth it!
Recently though, I’ve been focusing much more of my efforts on acquiring eCommerce website design work. Craigslist is still my main source of work, but Freelancers.com has been an excellent free resource as well! I’ve setup a handful of eCommerce websites using OSCommerce, AgoraCart, and other free shopping cart solutions. With my cPanel through Dot5Hosting… installation is a SNAP… then it’s just editing and inserting a design. Plus, eCommerce websites bring in, on an average, twice as much as a small-business ‘informational’ website.
I want to get into eCommerce using OSCommerce, AgoraCart, and even WordPress a little more next time… for now… I’m off to bed.
Creativity in design work takes a toll on the mind!
